Dear Parents and Carers,

What a busy week we have had! All of the key stage 2 took part in their Christmas craft days this week so there is glitter and sparkles all over school. Key stage one and EYFS will do the same next week. Rehearsals are well underway for all the performances next week - EYFS nativity and the key stage one Christmas songs will be sent out as a video link. Year 6 have been practising for a MAT concert and their joint video will be sent out next week too. Christmas carols and songs will be performed in the playground from 2:40pm next Friday and you are very welcome to join us.

Our Young voices choir sounded fabulous this week and they are looking forward to their concert in Sheffield after the holidays. Everywhere in school has been filled with singing as I have walked around this week, it's been really lovely to hear.

Next week we have our school Christmas lunch and Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday.

I have been made aware this week of parents using social media inappropriately and have therefore attached the Parent Code of Conduct to this week's newsletter. If you have an issue that involves school, please approach your child's class teacher in the first instance or call the school office to make an appointment with me. This way we can often sort out the issue quickly and easily. Thank you.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Karen Williams

We’ve heard the little ones doing their nativity and it sounds beautiful. Hopefully KS2 enjoyed their Christmas craft days.

Head girl certificate goes to Effie-Mae J (Bees)

Enjoy the weekend.

Times Tables Rock Stars

As we lead into Christmas, it's great to see so many children still working hard on TTRockstars. We're currently 17th in the local schools, with our aim to get to 13th! This involves the children trying to improve their speed. I'm sure we can do it! Our winners this are: Oliver H in Sharks, Nancy C in Earthworms, Finn in Jaguars, and Max in Wolves. Our class of the week is: Sharks! Well done to all.

Numbots

A huge well done to everyone that has been busy on Numbots practising their maths skills this week. Special congratulations go to Annabella G, Austin B, Bea Oliver and Evie D. Well done everyone!

Are you a good communicator?

Do you like being outdoors, whatever the weather?

Do you enjoy working with children and young people?

Are you looking for rewarding part time work that is mainly during the school term time?

If this sounds like you, then you may be one of the people we are looking for to help us to deliver the Bikeability national cyclist training course in schools throughout North Yorkshire.

If you can ride a bicycle with confidence and would like to be trained as a Bikeability cycling instructor, we want to hear from you.

Already a qualified Bikeability Instructor? We want to hear from you.

We are looking for instructors in Selby, Scarborough and Craven Districts, to help us to provide Bikeability Level/1/2 training to children in the county. Mostly we work with the 9 to 11 years age groups, with a priority towards Year 6 students. We deliver the course over 2 school days. Session 1 starts in the playground and the course progresses to the road. Most of the work is undertaken between March and October. We also deliver Bikeability Level 3 Course to Children and Adults.

We offer a flexible, casual, part time appointment with mileage allowance (terms and conditions apply) and a daily cycling allowance and an hourly rate of £9.45.

We will require that you are fully DBS cleared.

Successful candidates will be required to undertake 7 days of job training including a 4 day Bikeability Instructor course and a 1 day emergency first aid course.

We are committed to meeting the needs of our diverse community and aim to have a workforce reflecting this diversity. We are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
