Important Notes
Winter Sports: Any 5th or 6th grader wishing to participate in winter sports should be registered in Final Forms and have a current physical on file.
Students of the Month: Each month, our students and staff have the opportunity to nominate students of the month. Once nominations are in, each class votes on a student to represent their class as Student of the Month. In selecting the students of the month, we focus on Academic Perseverance, Exemplary Behavior, and Making a Positive Contribution to our school and community. We honor these students with a special luncheon where they get to choose friends to join them at a table decorated for the occasion. They are provided dessert that day and have an opportunity to win a prize through our monthly drawing. Later this year, we'll celebrate all Students of the Month as our annual honors banquet. Continue to encourage your children in developing strong work ethic and a servant's attitude, when it comes to showing up at school and being part of a family. Help them notice these qualities in others so they can identify healthy role models in their lives.
eLearning Day - Wed, Jan 29: We will have a planned eLearning Day on Wednesday, January 29. Students will not attend school, but will be expected to complete eLearning work. We will offer lab hours from 12-3 that day, if you need to bring your students in to access technology at school. If you are new to our school and new to eLearning, we encourage you to touch base with the classroom teacher, prior to Jan 29, to answer any questions you might have about eLearning expectations and supports.
NWEA/MAP Reports: NWEA assessment reports will be coming home next week. We administer these assessments three times per year in order to monitor student growth and achievement. This also helps us identify students for interventions and enrichment opportunitites. Please watch for these reports and contact the classroom teacher if you have questions or concerns.
Jewelry Design Contest: Ellis Jewelers is holding their annual Jewelry Design Contest again. A truly beautiful piece of jewelry combines nature's most splendid handiwork with vision and artistic creativity. You are invited to become the designer. There are 3 age groups: Grade 3-5, Grade 6-8, and Grade 9-12. Cash prizes will be awarded and 1st place winners will have their design made into a piece of jewelry the design gets to keep! Entry deadline is 1/31/20. Forms for the contest are available in our school office.
