Cooke's Corner

Eastlake Middle School 2.19.18

Dear Parents and Community Members:

There are always great things happening at Eastlake Middle School. We are about to embark on a journey of reflection. We hope you will join school leadership in opportunities to discuss the future of our school and what you would like to see us become. Here are some items to consider:

1. There is no Coffee with the Principal this upcoming Tuesday the 13th. Instead, we ask you to consider attending Carne with Cooke on Monday the 12th at Lolita's Eastlake at 5:00 - 6:00 PM. I want to do several meetings in the community to make it easier for more parents to attend in the future. There will also be a PTSO meeting. I would love your input about what you would like to see next year as well as sharing my vision for the upcoming school year. There are several flyers below from the PTSO.

2. Our visitation from our first Chinese Delegate was a smashing success. So much in fact that we have been asked to host one more mini visitation from Feb. 22-25.

3. There is a wonderful Parent Symposium happening on April 7th that I hope you will consider attending. Please see the flyer below.

4. In early March, I will be asking for parents to give us feedback on our Mission/Vision Statement as well our District Belief Systems (see below). Help us shape the future of Eastlake Middle as we look at our school practices as well as introducing new items such as Character Education.

District Mission and Belief Systems

Our district has recently unveiled its new Mission and Belief System. Please take a look at it and let us know your thoughts on how we can as a community embody these core values!

Parents as Partners

Above all things, I love the energy that our students bring every day to school. They are amazing young people with bright futures. We are working on some of their requests to make our school better including adding more lunch activities. I have also been in contact with our district offices about adding more lunch benches and shade throughout the school. I hope you will consider attending future parent meetings so that I may hear your input as we move forward as a school. I talk to our staff all the time about their legacy at Eastlake Middle School. I would like you think about your impact at this school as well. Help us create that vision!
