PMD Weekly

November 13th, 2015

Our week has flown by.

Yet again we have had a busy week working on lots of exciting activities for Thanksgiving and with our letters, numbers, and shapes. We began our week talking about Veterans Day and preparing our own tribute to their service. Obviously, we spent some time watching the Midway Parade and what a parade it was! A huge thank you to everyone who has served our nation.

During our art lesson we finished our place mats. Our Thanksgiving table will look tremendous. We also spent some time today creating table decorations to go along side the mats. Your children worked so hard on them, I hope everyone will be able to see them during our feast.

Every week we go to the library and listen to a story and get to choose a book. Please make sure to read these with your child during the week. Each student is given a choice of books and the one they select is checked out for them. Reading the book with them is a good way to honor their choice. We go every Friday, so if you want to keep the book at home until then that is fine.

Don't forget to sign up for our Feast

Just a reminder that we are having our Thanksgiving Feast on November 24th at 11:30. The event is open to family and friends. If Grandma wants to come great! The more the merrier! I understand that this is in the middle of the work day and understand if you are unable to attend. If you can attend, our some other family member can attend, it is not too late to sign up for a side dish. If you cannot make it in to school to sign up simply send me an email with your choice no how many people will be attending. I need to know how many extra chairs I need.

Class T-shirts

I have noticed as I walk around the school the number of children who have specific class or grade level t-shirts. I got to thinking about this and thought it might be nice to have our own class "crew" shirt which we could wear every Friday and on field studies. I have spoken to the teachers who have shirts already and they estimate the cost at about $10.00 per shirt.

I was wondering if you like this idea and would be willing to pay for, before I begin getting in contact with a printing company. Let me know verbally or by email as soon as possible.
