This week's Bearcat Bond Update for the 2019 Bond is a big THANK YOU!

It's hard to believe, but it was three years ago last weekend that Aledo Bond 2019 passed, paving the way for so many transformative projects for Aledo ISD that provided much-needed learning spaces for our students!

Listen in as AHS senior Payne Wellman takes you through these projects that include new schools Annetta Elementary School and McAnally Middle School, major renovations and additions at Vandagriff Elementary and Aledo Middle School, and the new/reimagined Aledo ISD Child Development Center/AISD Early Childhood Academy.

Aledo ISD Parents and Guardians: The Aledo ISD is seeking your feedback on the proposed 2023-2024 Instructional Calendar.

The instructional calendar draft process is outlined below:

• Initial instructional calendar draft is created by the district taking into account all state requirements as well as feedback received on previous instructional calendars.
• Aledo ISD DWEIC - Districtwide Effectiveness Improvement Committee - which is composed of teacher, parent, business and community representatives from all 12 AISD campuses - reviews initial drafts, provides feedback and reaches consensus on a draft to be shared with staff and community.
• DWEIC recommended revisions are applied to the initial draft and the official calendar DRAFT is shared with DWEIC members to assist in seeking feedback.
• DWEIC members and district seek feedback from staff, teachers, parents and other stakeholders (CURRENT STEP)
• DWEIC meets and reviews all feedback and makes final recommendations for revisions.
• After revisions are considered, determined and applied as necessary, DWEIC makes the final instructional calendar recommendation to the Aledo ISD Board of Trustees.
• Trustees will consider approval of the 2023-2024 Instructional Calendar during the January 17, 2023, regular board meeting after first discussing it during the December 12, 2022, regular board meeting.

Please use this Google form to provide feedback to DWEIC through 4 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022. As DWEIC is in the information/feedback-gathering process, please know that all survey responses will be shared with DWEIC.

This week's P2 Character Trait of the Week is Bravery!

Remember P2 has a site set up for families called P2 for Families. It is password protected, but the password is simply P2. This site has all of the Character Cards that we will share each week, plus related and inspiring videos as well as questions for families to discuss around each character strength for ALL 24 character strengths AND broken down by grade bands (PK-2; 3-5; 6-8; 9-12).
