School Update

Dear Families,

I would like to thank everyone for their support of LMES this year, especially given the way it ended. Last week, I felt, we were able to provide closure to 2019-202 school year through the final drop off for all students and our 5th grade graduation. On behalf of the entire LMES family, we wish nothing, but the best for all of our students transitioning to middle school! I know they are prepared with the knowledge and skills to be successful!

There are a couple of items I wanted to share with you:

1.) If you are not returning to LMES for the 2020-2021, school year please email Paula Gardner at

2.) If you would like to register your child to attend LMES for the 2020-2021 school year, please email to get the process started. This would be students NEW to LMES ONLY!

3.) We are having a final drop off of any items: library books, teacher books, and to pick up class pictures (for those that order them) on Thursday, June 4th from 11:00am-12:00pm in the front of the school. This will be the FINAL opportunity to do this. We are still out a large amount of library books. If you could please look in your home and child's book bag, it would be greatly appreciated.

4.) I still do not have a final date for yearbooks; however, as soon as I know you will know.

As both a principal and parent, I know there are a lot of concerns, questions etc. about what is going to happen in August. What I can share is our district is working diligently to devise a plan that meets the needs of all schools in Lexington One. This is not an easy task as it is hard to predict the future. Please know that whatever is decided, we will work through as together as a LMES team.

Throughout the summer as I know more from yearbooks to the school calendar to how school will look next year, I will let you know. So don't block me from your inbox just yet! I know some of you are over getting emails from me and I totally get it!! LOL!!

Thanks again for your support of LMES. We are a GREAT school because of each and everyone of you!! Stay SAFE!!

Advertising on the school agendas? Are you Interested??

Dear Parents,

Each year, parents and the local business community, have generously advertised their businesses on the Student's Assignment Books/Agendas in the Lexington One School District to help cover costs. We would love to have these prepared for Lake Murray Elementary for the 2020-2021 school year.

This program is prepared by BG Enterprises, a well-respected company that has been servicing many schools in the Lexington One School District for over 25 years. This company will solicit advertisements from our local community to help cover the printing costs.

If you are involved in a business that would enjoy high advertisement visibility among families with school-age children, please let Susan Locklier know so that she can give your name to Diane Grathwohl, our ad representative. Susan may be reached at 803-821-3102 or You may also reach Diane directly at 386-405-1849 or

Please contact me or Susan with any questions. We appreciate your support.
