Pumpkin Family Project
PUMPKIN FAMILY PROJECT
K-6th grade participants
Dear Parents/Guardians/ Family Members,
The fall season is here, and we are ready to celebrate the season! This is a fun and creative activity that can involve all family members. Take a moment with your child and decorate a small/medium-sized real pumpkin. You can use glitter, fabric, paint, crayons, buttons, lace, or any kind of supplies or material you have. There are only two exceptions to the rule, DO NOT CUT OR STRETCH THE PUMPKIN AND YOUR CHILD SHOULD BE ABLE TO CARRY IT. Carved pumpkin rot or spoil immediately. If your son or daughter brings a cut or long pumpkin, we will have to send it home the same day. Be creative! Each class will vote and select one of the pumpkins in the class to compete on Thursday, October 27, 2022.
The first place will receive a pizza party, the second place will receive an ice cream party, and the third place will receive a popcorn party. The entire class will receive the prize. Pumpkins will be displayed in the hallway and lobby until the day of the contest. Please ask your child to write their name, teacher's name, and grade level on the back/bottom of the pumpkin.
All pumpkins are due on Monday, October 24, 2022.
Have fun with the pumpkin family project, and enjoy the season!
On behalf of Yucca Heights Elementary, thank you for your participation and support.

Early Pick-up
For any Early pick-up, we would like to remind you that identification is required at all times. The person picking up the student MUST be on the contact list. If neither of these requirements are met, the student will not be permitted to leave the school grounds. Also, there is no student pick-up after 2:00 pm any pick-up MUST be before this time. We also do not make any changes on transportation over the phone. Parents MUST come in to make any changes. Thank you!
ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
Students who are chronically absent — defined as missing 10 percent or more of school days — can disrupt mastery of reading and math skills and cause students to fall behind and even drop out. Showing up to school and on time is important!
Attendance
Parents just a friendly reminder that school starts at 7:40 am. Attendance is taken twice a day at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. It is very important that your child/ children are in school on time every day. Parents, make sure you call the school to excuse your child's absence. All doctor's excuses or notes must be turned into the front office. Parents please try and schedule appointments after 1:00 pm so it doesn't affect your child's attendance.
