3. RARC
The Regional Autonomous Robotics Circuit (RARC) of North Louisiana committee has been diligently working throughout the spring and summer to prepare new cyber and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) challenges for the 2019-2020 school year.
RARC is a series of three robotics competitions for students in grades 2-12 that build upon one another and allow students to showcase their cyber and STEM skills while competing against other students in their division (elementary, middle, and Parallax/high school) in a series of integrated challenges.
This year’s RARC North Louisiana theme is Farm to Table.
4. Quality Science & Mathematics Grant Program (QSM)- $1000
The Quality Science and Mathematics Competitive Grant Application for K-12 Regular Education Teachers in Louisiana Public Schools is now OPEN!
Looking for a way to purchase classroom math and science materials? The answer might be waiting for you through the Quality Math and Science Grant Program. Proposal submissions will be accepted soon. You are eligible to submit an application for up to $1,000 (up $250 from previous years) to purchase non-consumable science or math instructional materials if you are a K-12 regular education mathematics or science teacher working in a Louisiana public school.

5. Achievement Descriptors
LDOE recently released science achievement level descriptors for 3rd, 4th, 5th, middle, and high grades. See image below for a sample.
"Achievement-level definitions briefly describe the expectations for student performance at each of Louisiana’s five achievement levels. The achievement levels are part of Louisiana’s cohesive assessment system and indicate a student’s ability to demonstrate proficiency on the Louisiana student standards defined for a specific course."
