Walk-A-Thon
- A great big thanks to the PTO, families, and especially the students for participating in the annual Walk-a-thon. This year we surpassed our goal of $19,000 by raising over $20,220. These funds will help support creative learning opportunities as well as outdoor learning. Please consider attending the upcoming PTO meeting (Thurs. Oct. 14th at 4:00) to provide your ideas and feedback.
Howbert Guiding Coalition (School Accountability Committee - SAC)

I would love to have you attend so that you can learn about what is happening this year and provide valuable input that will help shape the future at Howbert. You can join in-person or virtually (https://cssd11.webex.com/cssd11/j.php?MTID=m3cc92c7a894c965164819f317fd84e64).

WATCH D.O.G.S.
Calling all fathers, and father-figures!!! We need you for our WATCH D.O.G.S. program!
Wondering what the heck is WATCH D.O.G.S.? WATCH D.O.G.S. (dads of great students) is one of the nation’s largest and most respected school-based, family, and community engagement, organizations in the country. Since the program’s creation in 1998, more than 6,450 schools across the country have launched a WATCH D.O.G.S. program of their own. Each school year hundreds of thousands of fathers and father-figures make a positive impact on millions of children by volunteering millions of house in their local schools through this amazing one-of-a-kid program.
Who are Watch DOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day per year at Howbert!

PTO MEETINGS
The Howbert PTO meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 4pm. We will be meeting in-person but will also have a virtual option for those that would prefer to attend on WebEx. Our next meeting is on Thursday, October 14th at 4pm.
We would love to see you at the meetings! It is a great way to share your thoughts, hear about happenings in the school and support the Howbert staff and students. And you don't have to commit to anything! Come to as many or as few meetings as works for you and your schedule.
BOX TOPS
We're a Box Tops School! This year, we want to earn $500 to go towards outdoor education. We have already earned $41 towards our goal!
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Buy participating products and use the Box Tops mobile app to scan your store receipt. The app identifies eligible products and automatically adds Box Tops to your designated school's earnings online. Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your digital or email receipt and earn Box Tops. Twice a year, our school gets a check!
Your earnings really do add up. The more people that participate, the bigger the impact we can make. So let's give our teachers the support they need and give more kids the opportunity to dream. Little by little, we can help make a big difference.
