Fox Family Focus

Week of October 24, 2021

Greetings Fox Families!

Greetings Fox Families! This is Anita Roane, your principal with this week’s announcements and reminders. We hope your child came home full of excitement and enjoyed their day of learning on Wednesday. The teachers and staff enjoyed providing this experience. Check our Facebook page to see lots of photos.

Parents, I have a lot to say thank you for from last week. You have gone above and beyond with your support. From the PTA fundraiser at IHOP, PTA membership challenge, volunteering at the fire station, and donating the Coins for Kindness. The school appreciates your support of it all! Now for the winners from our challenges last week: We collected $1,446.05 to donate to Pony Partners. The classes that brought in the most money were Mr. Staples, Mrs. Toimil, Ms. Lenhart, Ms. Stover for Mrs. Yager, Ms. Nunley, Mrs. Patrick, Mrs. Whipp, Ms. Wagner, and Mrs. Rackley. These classes will receive pizza parties but we are very grateful for all of the donations. Pony Partners is a wonderful organization to support.

The winners of the PTA challenge for third place receiving 1 den point for each student and the teacher are Mrs. Whipp’s class, Mrs. Sandberg’s class, and Ms. Franke’s class. The classes in second place that will receive 3 den points each are Ms. Toimil’s class and Mrs. Thompson’s class. The grand prize winners for first place that will receive 5 den points each are Ms. Fox’s class, Ms. Taylor’s class, and Mrs. Walton’s class. Congratulations to everyone and thank you to all who joined to be partners with our school.

This week is Cans for Kindness. TeamLCPS will be hosting a canned food drive at all six of our schools, and all of the proceeds will go to the Louisa County Resource Council. The Resource Council has been an awesome partner with #TeamLCPS over the years, and this will be our chance to give back. So let’s go EpicMNES let’s continue with the spirit of giving and send in your canned good beginning tomorrow. Prizes will be awarded!

Parents, this is a reminder that students need to wear tennis shoes/sneakers for PE. This is for their safety to perform the activities and exercises in a safe manner. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter.

We hope you can join us Wednesday evening for our first Family Zoom Night of the year. You should have received a flyer last week. Remember to send in the RSVP if you need your child to bring home a device to participate. It’s going to be fun with stories for the younger students, Kahoot games, door prizes, and more!

Congratulations to our 5th grade Instructional Assistant Mrs. Tina Elms! She was awarded the Classified TeamLCPS MVP award last week. We are so proud of her! She does a fabulous job with our foxes at M-NES.
