StJP Handbook Highlight
Handbook Form
Please remember that all families must turn in the signature form from the Parent/Student Handbook. This must be turned in by September 30, 2015.Electronic Media
At no time may a student, parent, or family member use the name of St. Joseph the Protector, StJP School, or StJP on any website or social network site. School administration is the only representative permitted to use the school name.
Electronic effects, such as iPods, headphones, video games, toys or other electronic/mechanical items are NOT permitted in school. Cell Phones must be turned off and stored in the student's backpack. Cell phones or iPods may NOT be used to take pictures, or to copy tests. A student who does not follow this procedure may forfeit their privilege of bringing the phone to school and will risk having it confiscated and then a parent would need to come to school to retrieve. The school understands that some parents wish students to have a phone as a matter of safety, however; students must follow the above procedure or risk losing the privilege. A student who would use a cell phone or computer to “sext”, “text”, blog or cause harm to another student or teacher may be subject to dismissal. The use of any social networking sites are discouraged for our students and use of them to harm another student or teacher’s reputation may lead to dismissal.
A teacher may allow the use of electronic media for educational purposes, but if misused it will be confiscated. School will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged devices.
Students and parents must sign and return the Acceptable Use Policy in the back of the handbook and return to school by September 30, 2015. Failure to do so will result in students not being permitted to use the computers at school until they turn in the form.
