Summer = Time for readers to grow!
Tips, Opportunities, & Great Book Recommendations
Why do kids have to read throughout the summer?
Educators use the term "summer slide" to describe what happens when children fail to read throughout the summer. Kids actually lose reading skills that they had attained throughout the school year if they fail to continue reading during June, July, and August. Let's do everything we can to ensure that our children continue to develop as readers throughout their summer vacation. This flyer contains many suggestions for ways that you can make sure your son or daughter does not experience summer slide.
