32nd presedent of the United States

  • During the great depression he established a group called the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) who planted millions of trees to prevent the soil erosion in the dust bowl areas. He also established the Tennessee Valley Authority which restored a hydroelectric power plant in the Tennessee River Valley. He also passed laws like the Soil Erosion Act and the Wildlife Restoration Act.


FDR is mentioned in chapter 12.6 for the Soil Erosion Act in 1935. The act helped farmers set up conservation programs in in the Great Plains that had started to erode during the dust bowl.
