What's Buzzin'?!?!?

October 18, 2019

Parents, thank you for all of your support and donations through our PTO Read-a-thon and one book, one school reading Fenway and Hattie! Our fundraiser was successful and we enjoyed reading the book along with families, culminating in Family Game Night last Friday. The funds raised will support many of our technology programs that students have access to at school and home, books available to students in our classroom libraries, our outdoor classroom/garden makeover, teacher grants for classroom projects and needs, and more!

Congratulations to our STING Ticket Winners!

Volunteer Opportunity for Dads

CALLING ALL DADS! We are starting a volunteer program specifically for our Gold Hill Fathers.

This volunteer opportunity is for one full school day, from 7:30-2:00. You would check in at the front office at 7:30 and receive your schedule for the day, where you will be able to help supervise things like lunch, recess, and the hallways, also help inside classrooms, with related arts classes, and you would have time built into the schedule to spend with your child and their class.

We are looking for 1-2 dads each Wednesday starting on November 6 and continuing through December 11.

If all goes well and we have a lot of Dads interested, we will look to expand this opportunity a few more days per week starting in January.

We are accepting volunteers on a first come, first serve basis. To sign up, please click the link below...

This is just a reminder that all visitors MUST have their driver's license in order to sign in at the front office. If you do not have your license, you will not be able to sign in and enter the building. This is for the safety and security of our students and staff.

Our Lost & Found is piling up! Please have your child check for missing items next week!

Parents, please take a moment to read the reminders below, as they pertain to student safety as well as procedures.

  • Students are in the full swing of learning and practicing school procedures, including knowing how to get to their classrooms. Only use the parking spots if you have items to bring into the office. Parents parking and walking their students across the lot holds up the car line and creates more traffic. Additionally, parents walking their students across the lot has created a safety issue, as cars are constantly moving and we don't want anyone to get hit.
  • Drop off at the middle school ends at 7:30. If you arrive after 7:30, you will need to use the GHES car line.
  • Please ensure that students exit the vehicles on the side closest to the building. This is for their safety.
  • Students who arrive after 7:35 will need to be signed in at the front office.
