Native American Heritage Month
November marks Native American Heritage Month. The month long celebration has evolved from its beginnings as a week-long celebration in 1986, when President Reagan proclaimed the week of November 23-30, 1986 as "American Indian Week." Every President since 1995 has issued annual proclamations designating the month of November as the time to celebrate the culture, accomplishments, and contributions of people who were the first inhabitants of the United States.
Through dance, family traditions, and music, these stories show the diversity and long history of Indigenous people across the United States. Celebrate the history, culture, and traditions of American Indians and Alaska Natives in a special collection of films, short stories, and resources from Public Television. Visit pbs.org for links to on-demand video programming and more to learn more information on the contributions of America's first citizens.

So much growth in 50 YEARS and our motto shines through it all!
To mark this momentous occasion, the PTA will be hosting several events throughout the 2020-2021 school year to celebrate!
We can't wait to celebrate the positive impact Running Brook has had on our community and its families. If Running Brook has played a part in your life directly or indirectly, won't you help us continue the tradition of fun, thoughtful education for the new generation?

The President's Corner
November is upon us.
This means the first quarter is wrapping up, Fall has descended upon us and this year we went to the polls in hopes of a better tomorrow.
Thank you to all who voted regardless of party lines and your ballot choice. A vote allows your voice to be heard and accounted for on important things like the next President. Equally important, your vote gives voice as an advocate for your own child in regards to educational matters and reform.
The PTA at its core is an advocacy group. We look to support and provide initiatives & opportunities that promote a strong educational foundation for EVERY student.
From pumpkin sales to goodie bags to assemblies, we do this all to promote education and student engagement in the community.
Whatever the outcome of the elections at the local, state, and national levels, the RBES PTA will continue its efforts to promote a love of learning and equity in opportunities for our school community.
Together with you, we continue to make tomorrow better for our students.
Thank you for your time.
Stephanie Martin
RBES PTA President
