Choose Your Attitude, Make Their Day, and Be Present
Thanks to all of our one-on-one special ed paras who work with their assigned student(s) to help them be successful each day. Your daily positive attitude with your assigned students, even when things are a bit rough, has been great to witness. Thanks Jenni, Kelli, Chelsea, Nikki, Joy, Lynette, Haley, Alex, and Angelica.
Make their Day

Last Teacher Day on May 30th
Our last teacher day will look a little different than previous years.
As a result of the new Science Adoption and the need to be trained on two kits for next year, the first training day for all K-5 teachers will be on May 30th from 8:00-11. There will be a bus leaving from GHS at 7:35 a.m. to go to Ethos Science Center for the training. You can either choose to ride the bus or provide your own transportation/car pool with others. (Please be aware that the parking lot at Ethos is smaller so space will be limited.) Once you return to GHS and/or finish with the training, please get lunch and then plan to be at the HS for the End of Year Retirement Celebration which will begin at 1:20 p.m. Attendance is expected by all on this day and I know that we will to want to honor our retiree, Gail Nichols, for her many years of service at GCS.
Note: The second day of teacher training for Ethos is being decided upon from the corporation and more information will be forthcoming. All other teachers not involved in the training will be expected to be in the building.
UVA Curriculum Work
TLT Update
The TLT met on Thursday to begin looking at how our Reinfinement Objectives are written for post-conferences in order to ensure inter-rater reliability. We also looked at the Post-Conference Rubric as we began rewriting/readjusting our goals in order to ensure that they "significantly impacted student learning" and included "observable behaviors."
Next week we will be concluding the year with analyzing NWEA Data.
