Otter Cheers For Volunteers

Otter Cheers to all of the Peppermint Village volunteers over the last two weeks! Thank you for sharing your time to beautifully decorate the holiday shop and help Otters pick out the perfect gifts for their loved ones!
This is just a few of our wonderful volunteers...It was so nice to have so many smiling faces in the building helping out!
Thank you!

Class Party Fund Donations

Fun fact: Class parties are funded by parent donations!
Each grade level has its own fund that rolls over from year to year and is equally distributed to each class to ensure all kiddos have a similar (and fun!) experience. Room Parents work within budget to assist teachers in planning/executing the festivities.
- K-5 there are 2 parties a year: One in Winter (12/16), one at the end of the year (date TBD).
- 6th grade goes on field trips instead! Donated funds will be applied to graduation festivities.
Consider donating $5-10 here (or reach out to your class' Room Parent if you/your business has relevant supplies) - Thank you for your generosity!
Reminder: Winter parties are limited to students and room parents.

The Character Trait for the month of December is EMPATHY!
Empathy is defined as an action of understanding, being aware of, and being sensitive to the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of another person. Empathy is about understanding what it is like to be in another person’s place or position.
In order to show others empathy, we need to understand what they are feeling and respond in kindness. We interact with people every day who have needs, need understanding, or need to be listened to. As we move through our day, we need to pay attention to what is being said and unsaid, as well as what is happening around us.
This time of year, we are finding people in need almost daily. By being empathetic, we take the time to let those around us know that we care about them.
This month, show your children what it means and how it feels to do something to impact the lives of others by listening, doing something or “walking in someone else’s shoes.”
