8th-Grade Summit

8th-grade Competitions and Recognitions

The 8th-grade students participated in a "March Madness" competition between the mentor groups this season. Rialed Up, Cox's Crusaders, Stone's Screaming Eagles, Hogue's Hoopsters and Wilson's Bracket Busters competed to see whose mentees passed the most Power Focus Areas. The first attempt to pass was worth 3 points, the second attempt was worth 2 points, and the third attempt was worth 1 point.

Winner - Rialed Up

Runner up - Stone's Screaming Eagles

"The students brought us tickets when they passed a test with their points on it. The contest was the month of March and the kids really stepped up!!" - Mrs. Rial

The Green Machine's

For the last nine weeks of school, 8th-grade students will be participating in the "The Green Machine's" recognition board. As students remain or gain all greens in their summit platform, they get to add their name to the board. What a great visual to help students see their accomplishments. Thank you for making learning such fun, teachers!

7th-Grade Summit

7th-grade Summit Saturday School

Ms. Hale and Mrs. White will host Summit Saturday School on May 1st, May 15th, and May 29th. Students who plan to attend will need to have their Chromebook charged and ready. This opportunity benefits our students in a tremendous way. Thank you, teachers!

D.A.R.E. Essay Winners

Congratulations to our CMS D.A.R.E essay winners, Niyunna Bryant and Mason Harris! These students wrote thoughtful essays that portrayed what they personally learned throughout the program. Officer Wells, Mrs. Parker, and Mrs. Canady were able to present them with a bicycle and a medal for their achievement.

Congratulations to all of our graduates. You make CMS proud!

Art for the D.A.R.E Graduation

The 5th through 8th-grade art students worked diligently to create posters for the D.A.R.E Graduation. These posters were hung all around the gym to honor the graduates. This was such a nice surprise! We appreciate all of the art students and teachers who made this occasion even more special.

"Officer Wells asked my 5th - 8th-grade art classes to help with DARE graduation posters. I was super proud of how hard they worked and how great they turned out." - Mrs. Jackson, Art

PLTW - Earth Day Project

The 6th-grade Project Lead the Way students planted flowers in celebration of Earth Day. This project took place under the Crossett Middle School sign on Friday, April 23rd. Thank you for your hard work! Now we can enjoy these blooms for the rest of the school year.
