Attendance

Starting March 15th, our attendance codes will change slightly based on Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 combining. The following attendance codes will be used:

  • No Code/Blank (means present)

  • VER (verified)

  • UNV (unverified)

In-Person Students: If your child is not in the building, he or she will be marked unverified even if the student is online. In order to change that code, a parent or guardian will need to notify the office that the student is not reporting.

Remote Students: Remote students will be marked unverified if they are not in the Google Meet. Please contact the office in order to verify your student’s absence.

COVID-19 Reminder

As we start the new trimester with students returning to in person learning five days a week,

it is imperative that we all remain vigilant in our effort to keep students and staff safe. We are seeing an increase of students being exposed from household cases. If your child, or anyone in your household, is experiencing symptoms, is being tested for COVID-19, or could have been in contact with a positive case, please keep your student home. We are hoping to limit the need for unnecessary quarantines.

Symptoms may include:

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath

  • Difficulty breathing

  • New loss of smell or taste

  • Fever

  • Chills or rigors

  • Muscle aches without another explanation

  • Headache

  • Sore throat

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

  • Fatigue

  • Congestion or runny nose

Leadership Team News

Romeo Middle School's 8th Grade Leadership Team has planned a variety of activities to welcome our two Cohorts back into the building Monday March 15th. We have been working very hard to make sure that all students feel welcomed and safe as we enter our last trimester of the school year, but our first trimester all together in our new building. Be sure to wear your Romeo Gear on Monday, Green on Wednesday for St. Patrick's day, and Red on Friday for our Red Out. In addition we will be conducting a short orientation for students who are brand new to the building and the leadership team will be giving tours. There will be a scavenger hunt on Wednesday and students will have an opportunity to share words of gratitude about each other, teachers, or other Romeo staff. We are excited to have our Bulldogs back in the building!
