There will be a brief overview of the PTA’s roles and responsibilities and how we make MCES a great place to have fun and learn!
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the 2016 Daddy Daughter Dance! It will be held on Friday, February 5th from 7-9pm.
Happy New 2016!

The Nominating Committee is Seeking New Members
The Nominating Committee is responsible for filling the open positions of the PTA for the coming school year. We also present the slate to the PTA membership in April. This is a super easy and fun committee. We do most of our work at home in our spare time via phone and email.
If you are looking for a way to become active in your child's school and enjoying talking with people we would love to have you join us.
Send an email to Diane.Hayes@allentate.com for more information.
Early Release Teacher Luncheon
Daddy’s Little Sweetheart Ball
When: Feb. 5, 2016
Time : 7-9pm
We need your help in making the dance a success.
Please volunteer your time or donate water or
chips. Send your email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will
send you a signup genius.
We also need help for setup and tear down.
Thank you in advance!
2016 MCES Spring Carnival!
The Spring Carnival is scheduled for April 9th, 4-8 p.m. It is sure to be a ton of fun, and we could really use your help to make it a success!
Currently, we are looking for volunteers in the following areas:
* Graphic design. We need someone to design a logo and make some simple flyers, signs, etc.
* Silent auction. Volunteers would ask local businesses for items that can be auctioned off on carnival day. Additionally, if YOU are a business owner and would like to donate any items, please let us know.
* Window Painting. We could use a person or two to decorate the entry windows/doors leading up to carnival to help promote the event.
These are our areas of greatest need, but there are many other ways to help as well. If interested, please contact Missy Balleydier at email@example.com for more information.
Science Olympiad Update
MCES has a record number of students participating the Science Olympiad Program this year. Students have been assigned to events and coaches will be connecting with their student team members within the next week. Please add MARCH 19 to your calendar for the Regional Science Olympiad tournament at Middle Creek High School. We hope MCES will continue to bring home medals in all of our events. If you have any questions about the program, please do not hesitate to contact one of the head coaches: Robert Sandruck (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Audrey Jaeger-Sandruck at (email@example.com). We are still looking for one coach, if any parents would still like to be involved, let us know as soon as possible.
West Lake Middle School 6th Grade Orientation Nights
WLMS has scheduled their 6th grade orientation nights as follows:
March 15th (Tracks 3 and 4)
April 5th (Tracks 1 and 2) from 6:30-8:00
(Families from any track can attend either evening.)
Bulletin Board Coordinator Needed
We need someone to help update the boards prior to PTA events (generally once per month.) If you are interested, please contact Lynette at firstname.lastname@example.org
Volunteers Needed for the School Store:
Tuesdays: K-2 kids welcome from 8:00-8:25am
Thursdays: 3-5 kids welcome from 8:00-8:25am
The school store sells little pencils, erasers, fun little school items for kids to purchase - prices range from $0.10 - $2.00, so kids can easily afford to buy something even with a little bit of pocket change. It is located at the end of the main hallway, adjacent to the 2nd grade hallway. Please contact Stephanie Petty, email@example.com
