WHAT A WEEK?!
ASB Zombie Fun Run
The week kicked off with a very spooky and profitable fun run during PE classes. Thanks to your help, we raised over $11,000 to support school wide student events. Many thanks to our amazing activities director, Dr. Casassa, to our PE teachers (Ms. Banks, Ms. Gillette, and Mr. McCullough), and to the parent volunteers who made this event a success. COUNSELORS' CORNER
Last week we celebrated Halloween with a party for our PRIDE Peer Tutors. The Diegueño Counseling Center has an amazing group of PRIDE Peer Tutors who keep our office buzzing during CAT Time each week. These students were nominated by a teacher who recognized their ability to be a strong leader, a compassionate listener, a hardworking student, and someone who displays the Diegueño Cougar P.R.I.D.E expectations: Potential, Responsibility, Integrity, Decision-Making and Empathy.
During CAT time, these students provide academic support, help with time management/organization, work on our garden, serve as ambassadors for our new students, or work to make sure kids are connected on campus.
If your student would benefit from help from one of our amazing PRIDE Peer Tutors, please reach out to the counseling office and let us know that you would like your student to benefit from this resource.

Fall back: Time change on Nov. 5
Daylight savings time ends this Sunday, Nov. 5, which means we’ll set our clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. The time change also means it will be darker in the morning when heading to school and will start getting dark earlier in the evening.
Tips for kids and adults to safely travel to and from school
- Wear reflective strips and bright colors, and carry a light when walking or biking.
- If you’re walking, choose routes with sidewalks and cross where crosswalks are available.
- Always carry your phone, stay in well-lit areas and wear reflective clothing so drivers can see you.
- You can always use your phone as a flashlight if you’re walking.
- Slow down and stay alert when driving, especially when it’s dark.
