What's In It For Me? (Feb.3 - Feb. 9)
I recently watched an episode of Returning the Favor with Mike Rowe. The featured individual was Coach Franks. There was one exchange that got me to pause. A young man shares the moment he discovered that Coach Franks is a volunteer. He does all of this for free? The young man, states, Are you serious?
If you take the time to watch you will see that Coach Franks doesn't have a job, he has a mission. He loves his kids and in return, they have a deep care and appreciation for him.
Recently I saw a back and forth conversation on social media. The exchange mentioned a few things that always make me cringe. The comments essentially focused on contracts and duties. My personal belief is, if you wake up each morning and your motivation is a paycheck, I imagine, you don't have a fulfilling life. I simply hope your mentality isn't, what's in it for me...
I encourage you to watch the episode, and I bet you can guess that Coach Franks knows his why. Fighting For The Trades.
