Gators of the Week - Work hard. Get smart. Do good.

Gators of the Week: River Bluff Swamp Bots team practices over break

Work hard. It was hard for our students to stay away from preparation of their upcoming challenges. The River Bluff Swamp Bots team practiced over the holiday break in preparation of their upcoming events this winter.

Gators of the Week: Gators Excel in Semester Exams and Grades

Get smart: With the first semester in the books, RBHS leadership is excited to report exceptional results in the first semester exams and final grades. Reports cards will be printed soon and sent home to students and parents but final grades can be accessed now through PowerSchool. Great work to all of the gators.

Gators of the Week: Habitat for Humanity Homes Built in Lexington

Do good. RBHS students over the age of 16 and staff will have a chance to support a worthy cause in the construction of a new home in the Lexington community through Habitat for Humanity. In support with Circles Lexington County and various other organizations, Habitat for Humanity has targeted Lexington, SC as a strategic area to reclaim property and build new homes. A ten home phase plan in designed for the area near Hendrix Street in Lexington. We are excited to have the opportunity to build homes, community, and hope in partnership with Mt. Horeb UMC, CIRCLES® Lexington County, & Central SC Habitat for Humanity.

Beginning this Spring, a home for a family of four with 3 children on Jesse St. in Lexington, SC will go into construction. Volunteer opportunities will be available each Wednesday (max 8 volunteers/shift) and Saturday (max 15 volunteers/shift) in the months of March and April, with possible additional dates added throughout the building process. Each date has a morning and afternoon shift. Feel free to sign up for as many dates/times as you'd like.

To serve on the home build, volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Volunteers aged 16-17 will be required to have a waiver form signed by a parent or legal guardian before they will be able to volunteer.

What a great way to "Do good." in our community.

Signing Out Procedures

A reminder to parents regarding signing students out during the school day. Someone from the student's sign out sheet must come in and show ID to dismiss a child. We do not accept phone calls or emails for dismissal. You can come in on Monday to sign your child out during the week but only up until Friday of the same week. Also, if you are dismissing your child during ILT, then it is helpful to have made arrangements with the student ahead of time. We appreciate your help to assist in making this process efficient.
