Thanks for Spreading JOY!

With your help, 3rd grade SALT collected 300 gifts for Christmas Connection (plus a few delivered directly to CC)! Here is a note from Mrs. Silvernail, who delivered the gifts…

The toys arrived not a moment too soon! Christmas Connection’s shelves were getting bare, and their program director was worried. Our school’s toy drive collection of over 300 toys will go straight onto the shelves for shopping! As always, the staff and volunteers who helped me unload the car were overwhelmed with gratitude for our donations. I’m so proud of our school, and so proud of our third grade!

If you did not get a chance to contribute and would still like to, view Christmas Connection’s wish lists at sharingtreeok.org/toylist, and ship items directly to them. Thank you for helping us bring Christmas to families who need us!

Grant a Classroom Christmas Wish!

Have you seen the Christmas tree in the church narthex? It’s covered in angels and wishes for our school classrooms and Religious education classes! Feel free to take an angel and help fulfill a classroom wish. You can also find our teacher’s classroom wish lists and favorite lists on the school website.

Christmas Music Program: Carols by Candlelight

Everyone is invited to attend Carols by Candlelight next Tuesday, December 13th at 6:30pm. You are in for a beautiful performance by our 3rd-5th grade students, St. Eugene School Choir, and select middle school students! Performers should follow directions regarding attire and arrival in the December 2nd email from Mrs. Mejia.

December Green Team Meeting

Next Green Team meeting will be Thursday, December 15th from 3:00-4:15pm in the school art room. We will be doing Up-cycled Christmas crafts! You must sign up to attend. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0D45AEA92BA31-green6

Breakfast with Santa!

Families are invited to come to Breakfast with Santa following 9:30am mass this Sunday Dec. 11th. The Knights of Columbus will be accepting donations for the ASAP program - Active Support After Pregnancy. This new program helps mothers and babies by supporting pregnancy resource centers and maternity homes. Middle school students, please see the email from Mrs. Ison if you would like to volunteer to help!

End of Semester

As we approach the end of the first semester, please login to FACTS/Renweb, and make sure your account is in good standing. Outstanding balances may result in a report card hold until cleared. It’s also a good time to make sure your email address and other contact information is correct. If there have been any changes, please update your family account to reflect the changes.

Time & Talent Ops!

Volunteer During Basketball Season! - We will need help at the gym when CSSE hosts basketball games. We will need gym monitors, concession help, and scoreboard help. If anyone wants to volunteer they can sign up at this link or email Dave Frame at dsaframe@gmail.com or Aaron Hartman at shocktroop2023@yahoo.com.

Volunteer in the Lunchroom - We need a few volunteers to cover a shift in the lunchroom once a week on Fridays. Volunteer will help pass out lunches, monitor students, and clean tables between lunch periods. See available dates and sign up to earn a couple of Time and Talent hours! Must have current Safe Environment.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd - We need volunteers for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)! In order to provide this beautiful Montessori-based approach to religious education, we need volunteers to assist teachers in the Atrium (you do not need to be a trained catechist) and to help prepare materials for the children. Materials making will take place at 9:30am Friday, Dec 16th in the Bride's Room of the CHURCH. More dates will be available beginning in January. Please contact Christie Ardoin if you can help in either capacity or for more information: goodshepherd@steugenes.org.
