P.R.I.D.E. Lanyards
During 2nd period on Tuesday, Nov 15, please pass out the McMillen P.R.I.D.E lanyard to students that continually demonstrate the McMillen Way. Lanyards are in your mailboxes. We will reinstate Lions Lunch Wednesday, Nov 16, if students meet the campus goal.First Amendment Rights of students
The district has seen an increase of students choosing to sit during the pledge. Our district policy states that parents must give permission to allow students to opt out. You may choose to allow students to sit or not recite without having prior permission. If you want students to have prior permission based on the policy, allow them to sit and then forward their names to an administrator and we will contact parents to get permission. In the words of the the Great Eric Lockett, “pick your battles.”
