Kirk Fenton News

29th November 2019

Dear Parents / Carers,

In the last couple of weeks we have seen quite a few visitors to school. These have included parents of prospective new starters for Reception in September 2020, school governors and trustees from the Academy Trust who oversee the school. The view of all of these varied visitors has been overwhelmingly positive with the classes being described as 'purposeful', 'calm' and 'friendly'. I have been proud to show visitors our school and the people in it that make it such a great place to learn.

Next week, we have the first of our Nativity performances. We now have several children in school who, for whatever reasons, have refused permission for video or photographs. As a school it is right that we respect their wishes and therefore we will no longer be allowing parents to record performances. You will however have time after the show to photograph your own child in their costumes. I ask that you please support us in this in order to protect our pupils.

Have a lovely weekend

Mrs Karen Williams

Sporting Success

Congratulations and thank you to our fabulous Playleaders who have done an amazing job running exciting events this week. Well done to everyone who has joined in, it's lovely to see so many of you being active on a lunchtime and having fun.

Well done to our certificate winners: Olivia, Zion, Alastair and Sam.

Christmas Performances

As we grow as a school, for safety reasons, we are unfortunately having to limit the number of tickets available to the shows to 2 per family to enable all families to have the opportunity to watch their child/children.

Also, we cannot allow any filming or taking of photographs as we have a number of children who do not have permission for this. There will be the opportunity after performances to take photos of your own children.

Thank you for your understanding.

Christmas Dinner - Thursday 19th December

This year our kitchen ladies will be serving up their delicious traditional Christmas Dinner (vegetarian option available) on Thursday 19th December.

KS2 - there will not be a jacket potato option on this day.

KS2 Toast

Children must bring 40p on a Monday if they want toast for that week (toast is available on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday). Thank you

Volunteering

Thank you to all those who attended the meeting on Friday at the White Horse, it was lovely to see new and old faces being involved. Not to mention being graced with the presence of this gorgeous bear which you will have the chance to win at the fair if you can guess his name.

We are supporting the upcoming Christmas performances, can anyone help? If so please get in contact via email friends@kf.starmat.uk or using the WhatsApp group.

Christmas Fair Friday 6th December

· We are still looking for volunteers for the fair, we can never have too many and it means the more we have the better the fair.

· Don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets for the chance to win some fantastic prizes.

· Thank you for those who have brought Gift Bags into school, there is still time for those who haven’t brought them in. We will be accepting them till the morning of the 6th December.

And... for those that the elf visits, have fun on Sunday!
