BUSING FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 30

Sioux Center Community Schools do not have school on April 30 but SCCS does. Only the two Sioux Center Christian School buses (2014 and 2020) will be running the morning and afternoon routes that day. All other students will need to have their own transportation to and from school.

7TH GRADERS STUDY THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

7th graders having been studying the American Revolution and hosted a faux wax museum to share their research on a notable person from the Revolution. The 5th graders toured the museum, browsing the posters designed for each Revolutionary figure and listening to stories about those who laid the foundation and fought for our country's independence. Great work, students!

TRAIL'RAISER NIGHT 2021

Trail’Raiser Night 2021

THANK YOU to ALL who supported Trail’Raiser Night on Saturday, April 17! We have been INCREDIBLY BLESSED by all who attended, donated, volunteered, baked, bid, bought …every element of the event was needed to make it successful. Please join us in praising God for His provision through you!

We are excited to share that Trail’Raiser Night itself brought in $117,000 in donations! BUT…that isn’t the entire picture of the generosity behind Trail’Raiser Night … $13,000 was donated through the Prayer Notepads in March, which was doubled by matching funds, plus we received $83,500 in donations from businesses and individuals from January through April! ($226,500 was the total impact of Trail’Raiser Night efforts from January - April)

So…what does that bring our debt down to?

Drumroll please…. $65,492!!

It’s not zero, BUT let’s look at how much debt we have defeated since the beginning of last October… in just seven months, the generosity of our supporters has defeated $614,508 in debt, taking us from $680,000 to $65,492! Wow!! Praise God!!

What happens next? With our current funds we will pay back those who loaned money for this building project through our CD program (the bank loan was paid off in February). We will evaluate the actual debt remaining at that point and most likely work through a quiet phase of raising donations to finish it off. We will let you know when we have reached zero!! (and if anyone would like the honor of making the last donation that brings us to zero, connect with Josh or Amy 😊 )

THANK YOU to EVERYONE for your generosity!!

TRUTH T-SHIRTS

You may still purchase Truth T-shirts! Check out what’s left in the school main entrance (8am-4pm) - $25 for one shirt, $20 each if you purchase two or more!

CSI ACCREDITATION VISIT

We are excited to welcome the site visit team from Christian Schools International (CSI), which is the organization that certifies our school with the State of Iowa for accreditation. This team will spend three days this week observing, interviewing people, looking through documents, and discussing together how we are meeting our mission at SCCS. Their goal is to validate a self study that we have completed and to help us set goals for the next 5 years. We covet your prayers during this important process.

FOOD SERVICE NEWS

  • Volunteers needed: Our volunteer dishwashers/table wipers have committed to serving roughly 835 hours so far this year! This is a BIG help to the school, and we are so appreciative of all who have and continue to serve. But we need YOUR help filling our last several shifts through the end of May! The work is fast-paced but not difficult, and if you have a child eating in the cafeteria, you are welcome to take a break to eat with them. You can check out the openings and sign yourself up here: https://tinyurl.com/2z69k4cu. Contact Carmen Mulder (cmulder@siouxcenterchristian.com) if you have any questions! Thanks in advance!

  • You can find the lunch and dishwashing schedule here.
