2019 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL EDITION!
Tomorrow is the big day! The building has been painted and floors waxed. We have embraced tough conversations and received our charge for the 2019-20 school year as we commit to fully "seeing" our scholars, our families and our community as ASSETS! At community gatherings we fellowshipped with our colleagues, building bonds that will only be strengthened as the year progresses. We've laughed, we've cried, we've danced (A LOT)...but most importantly, we've done it all...TOGETHER!
As our Collegiate scholars return and Legendary/Rising Stars scholars follow thereafter, we are ready to embark upon a beautiful journey “preparing future leaders of the world”. Thank you for your efforts these past two weeks. The collaboration and positive energy has been infectious. You are an exceptional group of people and we are proud to be your leaders. Have a wonderful first day and and even better year with our brilliant scholars. Remember that they deserve our best, and so much more, each and every day!
-Dr. Booker and Principal Tyler

This Week's Focus!
2. SETTING HIGH, CLEAR EXPECTATIONS THROUGH GLOBAL GREATNESS (PBIS) ROLLOUT
Let's be intentional about building relationships with scholars and setting high, clear expectations for them! In addition to academy-specific Global Greatness rollouts, all classrooms should be participating in daily community building circles, icebreakers, building in opportunities for scholars to practice classroom procedures and expectations.
Important Updates
First Floor Restricted Area:
Due to a concern with the carpeting in the music room, the first floor will be restricted to scholars tomorrow (with the exception of CA 101 in the gymnasium). The first floor will be blocked off with dividers starting behind the scholar restrooms and going all the way to the 2nd grade pod). Rising Stars teachers will still be able to travel throughout the first floor. Please ensure that no scholars are traveling in the restricted area tomorrow.
Dismissal Support Meeting: All bus monitors and dismissal support team members will meet with Mrs. Douglas tomorrow to review expectations prior to our first dismissal (Time 2:00p).
Cultural Arts: Cultural Arts Cycle One begins tomorrow and all scholars will attend Cultural Arts this week.
