The First Day Of School Is August 31st! (September 7th for K and PreK)
2021-2022 School Year, Here We Come
We have made it to the big day, August 31st (Sept 7th for K and PreK) is right around the corner. We hope to show you the items you will need to know to start school successfully for both you and your child(ren). Please understand that we are in this together. Our goal, and I am sure it is yours as well, is to have your child do as well as possible both academically and emotionally. Please continue to keep the lines of communication open with your student(s), teachers, and feel free to include the office staff when needed as well. We are all so excited to see everyone in the building so soon!
First Day Items
Attendance is taken promptly each morning. Please call JRB (978) 827-5750 or email email@example.com when your child will be absent or late for school. Please state your name(first and last name), your child’s name, teacher, and the reason for absence. If you must speak to someone, please call after 7:45 AM. If we do not hear from you, we will contact you at home or work. This system is to ensure the safety of your child.
Public school students and staff in all grades are required to wear masks indoors in schools. Masks are not required when outdoors. All visitors are also expected to wear a mask in school buildings.
Masks should cover an individual’s nose and mouth. For more information about appropriate mask use, please see: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/cloth-face-covering.pdf
You can find the district bus routes by clicking here. The times and bus route numbers are on each sheet. Students are required to have a mask on while riding the bus. Any questions about bus routes should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your child’s full name, school and address in your inquiry.
As of the start of the school year and until further notice, we will not be allowing students to take the bus to a friend's house after school.
While we know it is an exciting time for kids, please try to refrain from getting out of your car each morning (unless your student is not able to unbuckle).
We usually end our drop-off at 8:30. If you arrive out back and there are no staff members, please drive around to the front entrance.
Finally, we ask for your patience throughout the first few weeks as parents new to this process might take some practice and extra time.
Parent Pick Up
Kindergarten students have been contacted via email with their teacher assignment and a link to sign up for screenings. If you have not signed up yet, please click here to do so.
In addition to your day for screenings, on Friday, September 3rd, we will host a Kindergarten Family Scavenger Hunt for any families interested in seeing the building. While the teachers will not be in the building that day, Mr. North and Mr. Leander will be happy to talk to families and answer any questions you may have. You will also have access to some 5th-Grade students that can help bring you around the building as well. This event will run from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, but it is not mandatory in any way.
We have also confirmed that there will be a bus giving short rides to the students. This way, their ride on September 7th will not be their first.
Nurse News and Notes
- If your child(ren) has a food allergy or restriction remember to contact the Director of Food Services Dennis Mueller via email email@example.com
- If a child needs any medication at school must have a new doctor's order and parent consent for each school year turned into the nurse. Students may not transport medications.
- The District COVID-19 website is frequently updated. Please check to stay up to date on district protocols.
Lost And Found
Also, as we enter this school year, please label clothing (especially exterior items like jackets, sweatshirts, gloves, and hats). Last names at least give us a good start toward returning items to kids.
