  • The term "Indian" originated from Christopher Columbus. He believed that he had reached the East Indies when he landed in America and named the people Indians.

All acts were passed in response to the Boston Tea Party

Boston Massacre

5 civilians died as a result of the incident, 3 died on the scene and 2 died later. Some websites incorrectly add up the number of victims to be 7 in total.

Boston Tea Party

On the night of December 16, 1773, dozens of colonists boarded three ships in Boston Harbor and hurled 342 crates of tea overboard in an act of political protest.

Declaration of Independence

Jefferson was a member of a five-person committee appointed by the Continental Congress to write the Declaration. The committee included Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Robert Livingston, and Roger Sherman.
