crusaders in (and out of) the classroom
The newly formed ACE Program went outside on Thursday and Friday to practice what they’ve been learning in the classroom. Students practiced changing car tires, jump starting cars (engines were off), putting windshield wiper fluid into cars, and more!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Mrs. Markram's 10th-grade students writing creatively from the perspective of characters in The Great Gatsby.
Mrs. Markram's 10th graders grappling with the complexity of Holden Caulfield's character by analyzing his defense mechanisms.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Mrs. Bardetti's Cohort B Homeroom spent their mornings reading The Outsiders before class started!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Mr. Cully’s class collaboratively analyzed the Latin American revolutions digitally outside using our chrome books to stay connected and share ideas while maintaining our social distance. We enjoyed the opportunity to get out of the classroom and still be productive. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ms. Whalen's 7th grade Cohort B Zoology students worked outside for some Symbiotic Speed Dating! They are currently learning about the way organisms interact with each other in nature (AKA symbiosis). Students were given a card with an organism, and had to talk with their “date” to see what kind of symbiotic relationship they shared! Students had a great time outside and it was awesome for Ms. Whalen to listen in on all of the student discussions!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Mrs. Young has had a blast getting to know her Algebra I class. They have started the year strong, are working hard, but really know how to take a minute and pose for a ridiculous picture!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The students in the POST Program were so happy to see other students back in the building this week! Even though everyone was wearing masks, its easy to see everyone’s smiles. With the weather being so great we took a few walks outside to collect colorful leaves. It will help us on the photosynthesis project we are doing. When we needed a break from our academic work, we played some basketball inside and outside! But our favorite thing this week was spending time with friends. It's great to be back at school!
