North Point ESC Update
Vol. 1 - Issue 11 - October 30, 2023
Data * Data * Data
School Report Card Data and EVAAS (Value Added) Data can feel overwhelming and confusing ~~ but it doesn't have to be that way. Data is supposed to be useful. Data should drive instructional and leadership decisions. Do you want help deciphering those different reports? Would you like someone to teach your teachers how to USE student performance data to influence instruction? Call Carrie Sanchez today to schedule time. She is available to work with teams, content area departments, building and district staff meetings as well as administrator coaching and leading. Don't feel like you have to "figure it out" on your own time - let Carrie help. Office: 419-627-3930 Email: csanchez@npesc.org

NEW! Navigating Emotional Realities - Dec 6, 2023 at The Chapel
The Importance of Building Stronger Inner Lives in the Workplacehttps://forms.gle/VUt7qFRT5JFJTMjr6
Modern adult life is complex, especially for those whose working lives dominate their mental and emotional space. Many of us spend more time at work than at any other activity; it’s there we’re often forced to deal with our own and others’ emotional issues. These issues often lead to major problems in organizations, erode individual well-being, create toxic and even dangerous environments—and impact rates of retention and productivity.
Navigating Emotional Realities with Adults helps leaders and employees alike better understand and address their own and others’ emotional health in the workplace. It draws conclusions and solutions from child and adult developmental psychology, brain science, and more to identify the foundations of our emotional makeup and guide us to healthier, happier times at work.
Coming Soon! Boys in Crisis
Description
With an eye to social media use/abuse and the culture of video gaming, the revised and retitled Boys in Crisis plants itself firmly in the 21st century to address cyberbullying and boys who seem chained to their consoles. Current statistics on social media use, wireless Internet access, and prison demographics illustrate contributors to and results of the crisis. Strategies for engaging boys—and their technology—are just some of the updates readers will find helpful.
Dr. Paul Slocumb paints a riveting portrait of the emotional abyss that engulfs many of our male children. Particularly powerful are the book’s six real-life case studies and the creative solutions Slocumb describes.
We live in a high definition world, and Boys in Crisis renders Slocumb’s approach in 16:9, well suited to the changing needs and pressures of boys in the modern age.
“Having witnessed newfound freedom for girls and women during the past two decades, researchers and educators are now turning their attention to the lack of simultaneous growth and autonomy among boys and men. Dr. Paul Slocumb has made this real-time crisis his focus, turning his insight on boys and their pain. He does not shy away from providing real-life answers to complex dilemmas, sharing understandable and teachable objectives.”
