From the Principals...
The Holiday season is upon us and as we reflect on the closing of 2023 we want to give thanks for the amazing CJHS staff and families for their partnership in ensuring our school is an amazing one filled with confident, honest, assertive, reliable, go-getting, enthusiastic and resilient students!! To our students, thank you for showing us what it means to #BEaCHARGER!

Sharing the Joy!
Thank you...
We would like to thank everyone for their flexibility as we encountered some flooding in our 200 level before Thanksgiving Break!! It is never ideal to receive a message at 7:30 a.m. saying school has been canceled, so we thank our families for their flexibility as we problem solved around our emergency. It was not an easy decision to make but one that was necessary since there would be no running water throughout our building for the day until the leak was identified and fixed.
Our district building and grounds department did a phenomenal job of coming in right away and getting to work alongside our custodial staff to identify the problem and get it resolved quickly! Our school staff did a great job of pivoting and planning for an impromptu e-learning day the next day! Again, thank you all for your grace and understanding.
Chiddix Jr. High uses geothermal heating and cooling. The most efficient form of indoor air comfort. Unlike the old Chiddix heating and cooling system, geothermal offers the ability to heat, cool, and dehumidify regardless of the outside air temperature. Each classroom unit brings in a minimum of 10% outside air at all times. The minimum outdoor air gives each room a turn over rate of 5 times per hour. The turn over rate is higher when classroom co2 level is above 1200 ppm.
Every geothermal unit is also equipped with bi-polar ionization. Bi-polar ionization is the safest proven method of killing airborne pathogens without hazardous side effects. Last week's air quality test MoldReport_52760528_For Chiddix shows no concerns of mold or bacteria in the classrooms. Each classroom tested is compared to the outside air sample taken that day. Results compare mold spores found outside the building compared to inside. Results show indoor counts are minimal compared to outdoor counts. Results also show no sign of mold spores indoors compared to the outdoor sample.

Fastbridge Testing
Attention students and families, the winter benchmark testing for aReading and aMath is next week! We ask students to ensure they work hard and try their hardest to show us what they have learned so far this year. These benchmarks help us in determining the level of learning happening in our building and whether any students need interventions to help them succeed in school. It is important that we take these district assessments seriously!!
