Technology Troubles: Too much time online!
When: Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 6:30PM
Where: Seth Ventress Building, 76 South River Street, Marshfield
Who: Parents, Educators, and Administrators
With children ages 8 to 18 spending nearly 50 hours per week in front of screens, parents are increasingly concerned that screen time is robbing them of real world experiences. Technology has become a part of everyday life in and out of the classroom. When is it too much? Is an hour a day okay? Two? Join us for an honest look at how technology is impacting our children’s health, mood, and social development, and learn strategies to help children interact with technology in a balanced way.
For planning purposes, please click here to RSVP if you plan to attend.
Marshfield’s Special Education Parent Advisory Council is looking for volunteers! Click here to learn more about SEPAC leadership opportunities.

March is National Nutrition Month

A healthy eating pattern includes: A variety of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fat-free and low-fat dairy products, a variety of protein foods and oils. Eating a healthy breakfast is associated with improved cognitive function (especially memory), reduced absenteeism, and improved mood. Adequate hydration may also improve cognitive function in children and adolescents, which is important for learning. The benefits of healthy eating reduce the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, iron deficiency and dental caries(cavities).
Illness Prevention

Illnesses: If you are keeping your child home for more than a day or 2 due to illness- please contact Nurse White, especially if the illness is something that is of a contagious nature(Influenza, strep, covid, pink eye, stomach bug, hand foot and mouth, etc.). If you have any questions or concerns about illness/symptoms please feel free to reach out to me at 781-835-5090 ext 44500 or by email awhite@mpsd.org. I am happy to help guide you.
Please remember that if your child has been out sick they can return to school once they have been without fever, vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications and when their overall symptoms have improved.
If your child has an illness or injury that results in an absence for 5 or more days- a doctor’s note must be sent in upon returning to class with any restrictions and appropriate dates.
