Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
I’m not sure if all of you had a chance to witness all of the awesome things that happened this week at BHS! If not, I’ll try to capture some of it in this newsletter!
For a “short” week, it was filled with outstanding Rotary 4-Way Speeches from three seniors, heart-felt support for one of our freshmen, JoJo Belser and his family, a parent scheduling information event, and athletic teams either competing or getting ready to compete in postseason competition! Our students are busy doing some amazing things, and it’s been rewarding for our BHS Staff to watch them grow.
Be sure to check out some of the photos in this edition that will highlight some of these events, and check out two news stories that aired this week. JoJo Story from WLWT JoJo Story from WCPO
My heart is full for our BHS kids! I’m very proud of how they represented our school, our community and themselves.
Have a great weekend.
In service to our Bulldogs.

2024-25 FAFSA Update:
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2024-25 academic year has undergone many changes, been updated for 2024, and is currently having a "soft launch". The website is up and running, but will be temporarily shut down occasionally for maintenance and updates. Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are at least eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources as they are received.
Here is the link to a short video that explains what the FAFSA is: What is FAFSA?
We have also included the link to a slightly lengthier video that explains the entire FAFSA application process and answers many of your questions: The 2024-2025 Financial Aid Process
The student, as well as the parents/guardians must have their own FSA ID to begin the FAFSA application process. Here is the link to create your FSA ID: https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch
Lastly, here is the link to begin your FAFSA application: StudentAid.Gov
Updated Scholarship List:
