King County Metro temporarily suspending fare collection
In response to the COVID-19 impact on our community, Metro has decided to temporarily suspend fare collection when riding buses, Access paratransit, and water taxi effective March 21 until further notice. This effort is to acknowledge the direction of public health to take steps to limit the spread of COVID-19 while still accommodating people who rely on public transit. Riders are directed to board and exit rear doors of buses, reserving front-door access for customers using mobility devices or who require use of the boarding ramp.

COVID-19 Freelance Artist Resources
This [website] is specifically designed to serve freelance artists, and those interested in supporting the independent artist community. This includes, but is not limited to, actors, designers, producers, technicians, stage managers, musicians, composers, choreographers, visual artists, filmmakers, craft artists, teaching artists, dancers, writers & playwrights, photographers, etc.
What this list IS: an aggregated list of FREE resources, opportunities, and financial relief options available to artists of all disciplines.
What this list IS NOT: a place to promote individual artist practices (we love you, but we’re not equipped for that); a place to promote fee for service work; or a place to seek direct emergency funding.
EPA: List of Approved Disinfectants for COVID-19
The EPA has released a list of cleaners that it has determined is effective for use against COVID-19.
FULL LIST -- https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2020-03/documents/sars-cov-2-list_03-03-2020.pdf
"Products appearing on EPA’s list registered disinfectant products have qualified for use against COVID-19 through the agency’s Emerging Viral Pathogen program," the EPA wrote in a statement to the media. "This program allows product manufacturers to provide EPA with data, even in advance of an outbreak, that shows their products are effective against harder-to-kill viruses than SARS-CoV-2."

MANAGING ANXIETY DURING THE CORONAVIRUS NEW NORMAL
- Set up regular phone or FaceTime calls with people you are close to; show them gratitude for the important role they play in your life.
- Check in regularly with how those you are concerned about are feeling; let them know you care about them.
- Connect with those you are living with: make time to do projects, watch movies, go for walks, etc. Don't go stir-crazy. Forgive and have patience with each other.
- Pick up a new hobby that doesn’t require group activity (now is not the time to join a choir) or focus on a home project you’ve been putting off.
- If you’re a pet owner, SMOTHER YOUR ANIMALS WITH LOVE. (And if you’re working from home, go ahead and share them with your video conferences from time to time.)
- Drink alcohol and smoke pot less—not more—than you normally would. It’s not a healthy coping strategy during a time of stress. Also, it doesn’t boost your immune system, which is something we should all do right now.
- Exercise! The gym is closed (along with 5Ks, marathons, Little League, and pro sports), but home workout routines with bodyweight exercises are more accessible than ever online. If you prefer walking, now is a great time to get those steps in – especially since outside is the safest place to socialize right now. From six feet away, of course.
- Set routines for yourself and those you live with, especially if you’re suddenly working from home, or working different hours. If you have kids, help them find ways to learn something new or keep up with school projects, and to connect with friends through FaceTime and age-appropriate social media.
- Opportunities to give. Many people have significant hardship as a result of these sudden drastic changes, and people are organizing support via social media. There’s also large-scale philanthropic fundraising to support those in greatest need.
- Focus on what you can control: Don’t buy up all the toilet paper (assuming there’s any to be found), but make sure you have groceries to get you through a couple of weeks, and follow Public Health instructions on hand washing, sanitizing surfaces, and social distancing to protect yourselves and your loved ones.

State insurers required to waive copays for COVID-19 treatments
State Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler issued an emergency order to Washington state health insurers requiring them to waive copays and deductibles for any consumer requiring testing for coronavirus.
The decree also mandates insurers must allow a one-time early refill for prescription drugs and suspend any prior authorization requirement for treatment or testing of COVID-19.
In addition, if an insurer does not have enough medical providers in its network to provide testing and treatment for COVID-19, it must allow enrollees to be treated by another provider within a reasonable distance at no additional cost, Kriedler's office said.
The order is effective immediately and applies to all state-regulated health insurance plans and short-term limited duration medical plans until May 4, 2020.
For those that do not have insurance, you can contact the Washington Health Benefit Exchange to see if you qualify for free health coverage or a special enrollment for individual health insurance.
Washington State Unemployment Assistance
If you are out of work, Washington State's Employment Security Department provides support services to individuals affected by COVID-19 in Washington. CLICK HERE FOR THE WEBSITE LINK.
The Employment Security Department has adopted a series of emergency rules to relieve the burden of temporary layoffs, isolation and quarantine for workers and businesses.
