"I asked you and you would not listen; so I asked my God and He did listen."
St. Scholastica
From Mr. Merrick
Dear St. Jerome Families,
Last Friday, we officially wrapped up Catholic Schools Week by playing Bingo as a school; we would have played the week before if not for the snow. Thank you to Fr. Reilly for helping to call, to Mr. Dooley, Mr. Casee, Emma Wimsey, and Gracie Fahey for running the technical end of the game, and to Mrs. Carolan for coordinating the snacks and raffles.
We also had a great time playing Family Feud as a school during Catholic Schools Week. The game was coordinated by our Student Council and hosted by our student body president, Bella Bringhurst. They came up with questions, surveyed the students of St. Jerome, and presented the game live over the TVs in the classrooms and via livestream for our Virtual Lions. They did such a great job working together.
St. Jerome School continues to advance in the area of technology. As of this past week, we are now fully one to one in our 3rd to 8th grade classes; each child now has a Chromebook to use during the school day. We are especially grateful to Archbishop Ryan High School who donated two charging carts for these new Chromebooks. Thank you as well to Mr. Dooley who coordinated this donation as well as set up the machines and is teaching our students how to use them effectively. With these latest additions, 1st & 2nd grade now have a set of Chromebooks (with the necessary cart and sanitizing supplies) for Mrs. Cerruti and Ms. Wojton to share while we work on acquiring an additional set to make these classes one to one.
This week, we all begin our journey through the season of Lent. In addition to Ash Wednesday, we will be attending the 8:00 AM Mass one day per week as well as the Stations of the Cross on Friday afternoons. We will also be making a Holy Hour and praying the Rosary together each month.
We received a thank you note from the Padre Pio Prayer Center acknowledging our school's donation in memory of Mrs. Cimino. In appreciation, they will also be offering Mass for Mrs. Cimino on March 3rd at 7:00 PM. The liturgy will be livestreamed on their Facebook page.
We also received a thank you note from Catholic Social Services for our donation of birthday boxes. The contributions of the families of St. Jerome School were greatly appreciated!
Please remember to return your Continuous Enrollment Form by February 26th. If you have any new siblings enrolling at St. Jerome School, please add them to the continuous enrollment form. We will then send you any addition forms that need to be for new siblings.
We will keep you posted as to any updates with the weather on Friday; our teachers are prepared whether we are in-person, delayed, or on flexible instruction. Have a great rest of the week; St. Jerome, pray for us!

Title I Program Income Survey 2020-2021
We need your help! Our school has an opportunity for the children who really need extra academic support to receive it through the Title I program under Every Student Succeeds Act, but we can’t do it without YOU! In order to determine the funding available for this program, we must have an accurate count of children and the income level of their families. I want to assure you your privacy will be protected and no names are required on this family survey form. Only the address and grade levels are provided to the school district so its staff can determine the funding for the Title I program for the eligible children. Thank you for giving this your immediate attention.
Please return the survey to the school office by Monday, March 1, 2021.
