102 days in and going strong!

Dear Barrows Community;

What a great week! The 100th day of school celebration was awesome! Kudos to our Kindergarten & 1st grade students, the K & 1st teachers and paraeducators, and Carina Becker for an awesome community assembly. It was a great chance to celebrate all the learning that has taken place over the last 100 days, as well as the collaboration and perseverence that it has taken to earn the all-school dance party!

Although we missed our learners on Thursday as they enjoyed a snow day, it was great to hear about their many adventures that they had with their families.

I am so appreciative to work in this community. Even though we had a tricky morning drop-off today, each car that I saw had smiling parents and smiling students... showing understanding and patience as they maneuvered through our "Winter-In-New-England" snowy streets. Thank you for keeping your positivity and supporting each other!

Love, Principal Leonard

If your child is planning to share Valentines with their classmates, please observe any guidance provided by the teachers. Additionally, sharing of Valentines also need to follow our district Health & Wellness policy, please do not include candy or food items for sharing. Thank you all for helping us keep kids safe and support healthy choices!

Thank you from 1st grade

The first grade team would like to thank the PTO, our enrichment coordinators, Kate Grant and Sam Carreiro, and the many parents who helped chaperone our field trip to the Stoneham Theater. We loved the play and we REALLY loved the bus ride!

We'd also like to give a shout to Carina Becker for her help with the technology side of the all-school assembly. We were stumped and she came to the rescue.

Thanks, Grade One

Note from Nurse Rose

Dear Families,

Next week I will being doing heights and weights (bmi) of students with Mrs. Atwood for grades 1 and 4 (state mandated screening) and for grades 3 and 5 (part of the fitness program). We do not discuss or comment on any of the numbers with the children (unless they want to know) . We remind the students that this information is private and personal, and not to share it with other students. If you do not want your child's bmi done, please let me know.

Thanks,

Christine Rose
