Exodus: God Sends Miriam to Protect Moses
Exodus 2:1-10
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them”– (Romans 8:28).
Pharaoh makes a rule to kill all Hebrew baby boys. When Moses is born, his mother manages to hide him. Then God uses Moses’ sister, Miriam, to keep Moses safe as he floats in a basket in the Nile River. God takes care of us through others, so Moses stays safe.
THROUGH THE WEEK
- Assign each person one day of the week. On each day, that person will be “Moses.”
- Everyone else in the family will think of ways to take care of Moses. For example, you might fold that person’s laundry, make Moses a special treat, or make his or her bed.
- Moses shouldn’t be demanding or ask for help; everyone should just be looking for ways to care more for Moses.
- At the end of the week, talk about how it felt to be cared for. Also talk about what it was like finding ways to care for others.
Talk About This…What’s the best way someone can take care of you when you’re sick?
