Homecoming Football Game Information
We are excited to welcome everyone to our Homecoming Football Game vs. Andover High School on 10/6 at 7:00 PM. In order to provide a positive, safe environment for everyone, we are highlighting a few key policies for the Homecoming football game. Please review this information carefully.
- There will be a student-only gate on the East side (closest to Hanson Blvd). All students must have their student ID (physical ID or on StudentVue on cell phone) to get into the game. No Student ID = No entry.
- Only CRHS & Andover High School students will be allowed entry to the Homecoming game.
- Middle school students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian chaperone to enter into the game. Adult chaperones are expected to supervise students they escorted to the game at all times. Adult chaperones are NOT allowed to leave the stadium without their students. Adult chaperones and students who are unable to follow these guidelines may be asked to leave the stadium.
- Students will NOT be allowed to bring backpacks, bags, and outside food/beverages in the game. For safety consideration, purses and fanny packs will be searched at entry.
- There will be no entrance to the game after the 3rd quarter.
- Anyone leaving the football game and returning must pay to re-enter.

Anoka-Hennepin Technology Protection Plan- New for 2022-23!
Technology plays an important role in preparing students for life, and Chromebooks are utilized as a daily learning tool in Anoka-Hennepin middle and high school classrooms. Anoka-Hennepin students in grades 6-12 are assigned a Chromebook from the school district to ensure access to technology systems that support classroom learning.
Over 28,000 Chromebooks will be distributed to students the first week of school. As careful as students and schools are, accidents do happen each year - and hundreds of Chromebooks are returned at the end of the school year with damages.
Practice ACT: Monday, October 10
Anoka-Hennepin is providing a one time opportunity for juniors to take a practice American College Test (ACT). The ACT is a multiple-choice standardized test accepted by many colleges and universities for admission decisions. The purpose of taking the practice ACT test is for students to experience taking a timed test before the real ACT in April.
Here are some important details about the Practice ACT test day on Monday October 10th:
- 11 grade students will be taking the Practice ACT
- Report to CRHS by 7:40. Testing room assignments will be posted on the wall in multiple locations around the building.
- Students may leave school once completed.
- 11th grade students who ride the bus will remain at school in the cafeteria until 2:20pm if they do not have a ride once the test is completed. The cafeteria will be a quiet, supervised learning environment until 2:20 pm.
- Lunch will be provided to students who remain at school following the test.
- Students in grades 9, 10 & 12
- Students in grades 9, 10 and 12 will be provided assignments through Google Classroom to complete remotely at home.
- Students that choose to come to school to work independently and complete google classroom coursework. will be supervised in the cafeteria for the day. The cafeteria will be a quiet, supervised learning environment from 7:40 am to 2:20 pm.
- Lunch will be provided for students.
- Transportation
- Morning and afternoon buses will run at their normal times for anyone who chooses to come to school and sit in the cafeteria for the day.
National Merit Semi-Finalist Winner
Congratulations to Coon Rapids High School’s own Jesse Ariston B Co who was recently named a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist! This is a tremendous honor, and Jesse is now in the running for one of the 7,500 scholarships of up to $2,500 for college. Jesse is one of four Anoka-Hennepin seniors who were named National Merit Semi-Finalists- the other Anoka-Hennepin students are Andover High School senior Eleanor Fredine, Blaine High School senior Adhithya Anandaraj, and Champlin Park High School senior Maura Wahl. Jesse joins approximately 16,000 semifinalists nationally who have the opportunity to become National Merit Scholars!
To become a semifinalist, high school juniors entered the National Merit Scholarship program by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT test, which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.

Late Start Schedule- Monday
Reminder about our Late Start Mondays. On Mondays with Late Start, first hour will start at 8:30am on Monday. School buses and transportation will run at their normal times but students that can get a ride or walk to school don’t have to be here until classes start at 8:30am. Attendance will be taken as normal, so please be sure you’re able to be in your classes at 8:30am when planning your morning. Please assume there will be more traffic with CRMS school bus and parent drop off happening at that same time as well. Students that arrive prior to 8:30am will be directed to the cafeteria for supervised time. During this time, students may independently catch up on homework, study, or socialize with their friends.
School Entry Expectations
As a reminder, all students are expected to enter CRHS through Door #1 after school starts. Students entering after school starts will need to provide a student ID for entry. This ID can be in the form of your plastic ID card or your profile in the StudentVue app. We can also pull up your student page from Synergy at the security booth when you enter if you do not have a card or phone but know this will take additional time.
Also, a reminder that students are not allowed to open doors for entry of anyone! Please remind your classmates to enter through Door #1. If students are seen opening doors, consequences will be earned for violating building safety protocols. All entry is required through Door #1 to ensure Cardinal Nation remains a safe and welcoming school community for all of us!

2022-23 Cardinal Yearbook "Ads for Grads"
Senior Parents-
Senior Year is an important milestone in many student's lives and it’s important to find creative ways to commemorate your student’s senior year, celebrate all of their hard work and accomplishments throughout their school career, and let them know that you love and are proud of them. A fun and easy way to do this is to place a recognition ad, or an “Ad for Grads”, in the 2022-2023 Yearbook. This is something that your student can look back on for years to come.
It is very simple to create an “Ad for Grad.”https://chrwww.ahschools.us/cms/lib/MN01909485/Centricity/Domain/2223/Yearbook%20FQAs.pdf Just visit www.jostensadservice.com and you can begin creating your ad today using your favorite photos of your son or daughter and a personal message. You can choose any photos you like: a baby photo, a grade school photo, or just a photo of your student that you love--you can even take a picture of the photo you want to use and upload that image from your phone.
- Photos may be in color or black and white, and you pick the fonts and background.
- Ads are available in two different sizes, 1/4 page for $60 or 1/8 page for $40.
- The Ads for Grads deadline is January 13, 2023.
If you have any questions or need tips on how to upload the pictures you want to use, please email Kari Berg at karilee.berg@ahschools.us or check out this sheet from Jostens with FAQs.
