The Bluejay
Pre-K-2 News- September 2019
A Message from Mrs. Teague
We are off to a great start for the new school year! This is the first edition of The Bluejay, our monthly newsletter. Each month I will be emailing the latest edition of The Bluejay as well as posting it on our Clever Schools PreK-2 Facebook page. We will again use SeeSaw this year as another form on communication. If you haven't signed up for your child's SeeSaw account yet, please reach out to your child's teacher for more information.
We look forward to a great school year!
This year students and staff will be focusing on following 3 simple collective agreements. Be Safe, Be Kind, and Be Responsible. We will strive to incorporate these rules into everything we do at school. I encourage you to use these three statements to engage in conversation with your child about the meaning of each one, and how they can incorporate them into their daily living practices both at home and at school.
Attendance Challenge
This month all classes are striving for at least 96% attendance for the month. Everyday their class has 100% attendance, they will earn a letter. They are striving to spell out the word "CELEBRATE". Once they spell their word, they will be rewarded with a Popsicle party! Please help your child's class earn their reward by getting your child to school on time (8:00), and avoid checking them out early (prior to 3:20 and 1:20 on Friday). Anytime your child out of school, whether it be excused or unexcused, part day or all day, it count towards our daily average attendance. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your child receives the max benefits or their instructional time.

Parents As Teachers
Did you know that one of the benefits of Parents as Teachers is early detection of developmental concerns? Yearly screenings, observations from trained parent educators and parent input combine to paint a picture of a child’s developing progress. If a concern is discovered, the process of intervention begins providing the child with the greatest chance for reaching their full potential.
Do you know other families who are expecting or already have young children not yet in school and not enrolled in PAT? We love referrals! Tell them to contact Paula Harvey to enroll! PAT office—221-7804 or message us here. PAT is a FREE program for children ages prenatal to age 5 (not yet in Kindergarten).
