Inspirational Quote
"We thank you, Father, for the gift of Jesus your Son who came to our earth and lived in a simple home... Bless us this day; may we grow in love for each other in our family and so give thanks to you who are the maker of all human families and our abiding peace."

Blanket Louisville Result for Michael House Service Project
- I want to thank all those families with their kind donation of a blanket that help support the Michael House service project of Blanket Louisville. Just recently I had the pleasure of speaking with those who started this program several years ago and they were very pleased that we once again chose their project.
- We were one of the first schools to joined forces with them. The first year Blanket Louisville collected over 500 blankets and we donated over 200 from just St. Paul. This year they will collect over 7000 blankets for the needy and they very much appreciate that we have stayed with them through the years.
- I was very pleased to announce that Michael House reached their goal of 200 blankets and in fact received”212”. Can you believe the number and yes it is over above the boiling point and makes us all very proud!
- I am very proud of the Michael House for their achievement, especially the captains Ally Schum and Dustin Horn and their mentor Mr. Zimmerman.

BoBo Spends Time with the Kindergarteners
Our fundraiser mascot, BoBo, spent time with the Kindergarteners this week. They lead the school in most chances sold and returned. Don't forget to sell and turn in your chances for the Christmas Cash Raffle. Every child whose family sells $100 worth will receive tickets to the field day that will be held in May.
Thanks for your support!
Opportunities to Sell Raffle Tickets
This is reminder that you should be turning in your sold chances so we can tally our results and provide you a report. The drawing for the raffle is December 5th at halftime of the bingo and it will be here before you know it.
This Sunday there is an opportunity sell chances at the following masses:
- Saturday 4:00 1 family
- Sunday 7:30 1 family

PTO Raffle Drawing at Friday Bingo - 12/5
- Today we will be sending home chances for the PTO’s “Christmas Cash Giveaway”. This is one of the biggest fundraisers the PTO will hold this year and we are asking for every family’s support.
- Last year, the PTO raffled off a week’s stay at Wyndham’s Bonnet Creek Resort. This was a great prize, but many people voiced their concern over the fact that the date of the trip was not flexible. Many thought that $10 was too much for a chance.
- This year when deciding on a raffle, we took these concerns into consideration. This year’s raffle will offer a cash prize of $2500! Cash that can be spent any time or anywhere you please. The cost of the chance/donation will be $5 for each.
- Once again we are asking that every family sell $100 worth of chances. As a reward for selling $100 worth of chances, your child/ren will be given a ticket to participate in field day.
- Along with your chances, you will receive information on opportunities that you can take advantage of to sell your chances. (Every person who took these opportunities last year was able to sell all of their chances.)
- The drawing for the raffle will be held at Friday night bingo on December 5th. We ask that all chances be turned in by Wednesday, December 3rd.

News from the Classroom
First Grade
- This week in First Grade we have been reading about buildings we know and what materials they are made of. We have read several versions of the Three Little Pigs and discussed characters, setting, events and what materials make a good sturdy shelter. We have also been working on singular and plural nouns.
Second Grade
- This week the 2nd Grade read an animal fantasy about Thanksgiving. We all discussed the history of Thanksgiving and what we are thankful for in our lives. We will spend Thanksgiving week reviewing our reading skills and strategies from the 2nd Unit in the Reading Street Series.
- In English we are reviewing nouns and have moved onto verbs and how they are used in a sentences. We enjoy acting out the action words in our sentences!!
Third Grade - Turkeys in Disguise Project
Grammar
- Third grade is also working on singular and plural nouns. We spent some time working on our grammar skills with the website, Moby Max.
- Third grade is participating in the United States Postcard Exchange. This week, we brainstormed different landmarks and attractions that make Kentucky special. Then we designed our own postcards with these special attractions. We mailed them out today and are eagerly waiting for our postcards from other states. We are looking forward to learning about what makes other states so special.
Fourth Grade
- EXTRA, EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT!
- Ms. Towles is happy to announce that ALL students in her class reached their AR goal for the first trimester!! WOW......This is the first class since she has been teaching at St. Paul where ALL students reached the 100% mark! As a celebration, Ms. Towles will be taking her class on a field trip to BW3's. WAY TO GO FOURTH GRADE!!
- This week, we read The Great Kapok Tree written by Lynne Cherry. Mrs. Sunni turned this story into a play a few years ago. This week and next, the students will be acting out the play. Most of the characters are animals that live in the rain forest. We enjoy disguising our voices as animals!!

SPD Happenings
SPD is off to a great start with the 6th, 3rd, and Kindergarten grades! We have been playing games and learning about the rules and teamwork this week.
Please remember to send the students in running shoes for SPD. This way we will have fewer injuries. Thank you for your cooperation!
Library News
We have been preparing for Thanksgiving in the Library by listening and reading Thanksgiving books!
Kindergarten and 1st grade have been learning about the parts of non-fiction books.
The 2nd and 3rd grades listened to Thanksgiving stories and made dream catchers.
4th and 5th grades have been working in groups learning about text features of non-fiction books.
The middle school students have been learning about the reliability of websites when using them for research.
Happy Thanksgiving! from the Library
- In preparation for Thanksgiving, today the 8th graders researched how to say Thank You in many different languages! They also found a special quote about being thankful.
- The 6th and 7th grades will be doing this next week.
- The plan is to decorate the Library and hallways with many "thank you" quotes because we all have much to be thankful for here at St. Paul School!
