Many Hands, One Mason!!

October 27, 2019

Dear Mason Families,

I can't thank you enough for all your support! We had a lot of events at Mason this past week (Game/Diversity night, Light up the Lawn, Fall Fest and Haunted Garage today from 6-9pm) and our community showed up in record numbers for every event!!! Thank you so much for all you do for our community of learners! I would be remiss if I didn't give our small but mighty PTO a shoutout as well! They work extremely hard to bring events to our school that build community and keep our learners excited about learning! Thank you, PTO!

Thursday (10.31) is Halloween and it is also a half day at Mason. Please make sure you discuss departure plans with your child so they know what to expect at the end of the day. We are excited to see everyone in their school approved Halloween costumes Thursday (you don't have to wear one if you don't want to). Remember, masks, weapons and clothing with offensive language or logos are not permitted. Parents are welcome to attend our parade (starts at 8:45 am) and classroom parties (starts at 9:30 am)! If the weather permits, we will march outside for our parade Thursday so please make sure your child is prepared to walk outside in their costume. If your child(ren) would not like to partake in the Halloween festivities, please let your child's teacher know and we will have alternative activities for your child(ren) to do during this time.

Thanks for being awesome,

Roy Bishop, Jr.

Principal

  • Mason School is also collecting can tabs off of canned drinks in support of raising money for the Ronald McDonald House that helps families with children that are sick in the hospital. A bag was sent home with the label shown below. We can all make a difference by popping the tabs off our old cans and having your child bring them to school! Thanks for getting involved!

Lunch Volunteers

Colder weather:

As the weather starts changing, it is imperative that our learners have coats, hats and gloves at all times when they go outside. If your child needs any cold weather items, please don't hesitate to let the front office know and we will make sure they get exactly what they need.

Arrivals:

All students should line up on the playground. Please do NOT enter the building to go to their lockers at this time.

Dismissals:

Please meet your students outside for end of day dismissals. It can't be helped, we understand appointments happen during the school day. Please remember to call the attendance line for early dismissals, the attendance line is open 24 hours a day. Teachers are trying to wrap up instruction and get the students ready to leave so, we would appreciate it if all arraignments were handled before 3:15PM. The more notice you give the better. Thank you!

Contact Information:

Did you miss an important phone call? Please make sure all your contact information is up to date.

Is your voicemail box full? Did you know your cell has a voicemail trash folder? Both need to be emptied from time to time.
