Wrapping Up 2016 In Celebration!
Happy Monday everyone!
“It’s the day after Christmas and all through the house…no dish is uneaten; I can’t button my blouse. The food was amazing, prepared with such care. But man am I feeling like a stuffed teddy bear. So to goals of re-booting, good health and good cheer. Now let’s get back in the swing of things and celebrate a New Year!”
Yep, that about sums up how I am feeling right now! Happy. Full. Ready! What a wonderful and very special holiday—my heart melted at the sight of my girls who truly soaked up the beautiful Christmas spirit, and our family received some fantastic news that my brother and his girlfriend we will be welcoming a baby boy this Spring! So much to smile about and so much that ties into the final topic of the month: celebration!
Oftentimes with celebration comes exception. We allow ourselves to skip a workout, we devour the appetizers, we say yes to dessert(s) and we refill and refill that wine glass. Actively partaking in the festivities just seems to open a window for tossing out the good healthy habits we’ve worked to create. But it’s not a permanent removal…it’s temporary.
So let’s keep this very short and sweet. Enjoy the celebration and look forward to pressing the re-set button in just a few days. In other words, get ready to kick these holiday eating and exercise practices to the back seat and charge ahead in the best interest of your health. Remember, we can make solid, healthy decisions throughout the year to allow for the exceptions that will be made during the holidays!
New Year’s Eve is upon us which not only bestows the gift of celebrating the blessings of 2016, but it also makes way for hope and excitement as we say hello to the new year! May you and yours enjoy a very celebratory end of year, and I look forward to chatting with you in 2017!
In good health and much gratitude,
Meg
