Encouragement
Our lifeline of encouragement is so essential to each and everyone of us as professionals. We do not all have to agree on everything professionally or personally but we need to respect our differences and recognize that as good as each of us is at our trade, we can continue to see the benefits of learning from each other. Just as we look at testing situations and how we want children to recognize there are a variety of ways to reach an answer, we need to recognize and believe that there are several ways to utilize instruction , as well as ways to strengthen ourselves professionally. We are all varied. We are all in different places. We are ALL DEDICATED TO THE BEST FOR KIDS! It may not always look the same or have the same schedule, but the heart and soul of the belief is the same. We know, and truly believe, that every child can learn and succeed in their own way and in their own time. It is up to us to find the way, to find the tool, to find the love for learning that will inspire them to love to learn! Being harsh and frustrated with any child will never get them where you want them to be. However, do not confuse that with having great expectations and having consistent and reliable procedures.. The difference is between becoming frustrated, and being supportive and consistent. The next few months are always a test! Welcome this challenge by creating learning opportunities that guarantee options! Encourage thinking and communication at higher levels! Even if your students can think at higher levels, can they communicate that thinking. Continue to find tools and options for students to think and communicate their ideas! You can make the ultimate difference--in fact, you are the ultimate difference!!!!
