Woodin Field Day is Coming!!
Go Wildcats!
Welcome to our Wildcat Wonders Talent Show!
Do you have a talent, something that you are proud of, or something you learned to do while staying at home that you want to share with your fellow Wildcats? (Click here)
Maybe it’s a poem you wrote? A recipe that you love to make? Or a trick on your bike, scooter, or skateboard that you can do? It could be an awesome toy you want to share? A pet you love? An art project you created or an instrument you play. The possibilities are endless!
Anything that you are proud of and want to share can be sent in for our virtual “Wildcat Wonders” show! We want you to send a 30 second video clip of you or even a picture sharing what you love to do!
We will put all Woodin Wildcats videos and pictures into a movie to share with the entire school here at Woodin!
Please send in your videos to shead@nsd.org by Friday, June 5th.
The virtual Wildcat Wonders Show will be held on Friday, June 12th.
Counselor Corner Update
I mentioned in my last counselor blurb that Woodin has a curriculum that is called Second Steps. Second Steps is a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum. The goal of a SEL curriculum is to increase self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and to problem solve. I would argue that the need for SEL is more important than ever.
I want to raise awareness again that If you would like to teach SEL lessons at home, please go to my webpage Mr. Taylor’s Second Step Page. Here you will find lessons for each grade and the accompanying lesson guides. There are other resources on my website that you can use if you look through my webpage.
As always, if you have any questions, thoughts or concerns, please feel free to contact me at ataylor@nsd.org.
Thank you,
Adam Taylor
