Call for Proposals RI TeacherFest 2019

TeacherFest returns and is once again supported by RILINK. It will be the professional development event for our membership for Summer 2019. Consider presenting on a topic that has worked for you and your colleagues/students. TeacherFest is a great opportunity for us to share what we do with K12 practitioners in other disciplines. RILINK will subsidize registration for our members. Submit your proposals and save the date!

Corner Bookshelf

This month's selection Catching Stars by Cayla Keenan is a fantasy book. Cayla is a graduate of East Greenwich High School and is presently a senior at Fordham University. Catching Stars is her debut novel.

Destiny Discover Update

Each month new enhancements will be highlighted in the newsletter. This month's include

  • Call number and sublocation information is now labeled in search results and title details, making it easier for students to see where to find the title in your library.

  • When you view a title‚Äôs details, you will now see all reviews made by patrons across all RILINK members.

LORI Certification Process

Just a reminder that the window to apply for new certification or renew current certification will open in January. As soon as specific details are available, they will be posted to the RILINK list.

LibGuides Embedded Content & HTTPS

RILINK Schools has moved to a secure server at This means all of your sites also have secure addresses. Embedded content such as widgets and videos need to be from secure sites as well to function correctly. World Book has updated their widgets to reflect this. Other examples of widgets that will need updating are Tumblebooks of the Day and Goodreads Shelves. Please contact Sharon with any questions you have.
