Gatorade
We Aren't Perfect but We Are Trying to Be
Steps in the Right Direction
Gatorade isn't perfect, no one is but we do know that they are making the right moves to better the environment and their own employees. As of 2007 it has been their goal to improve waste management, conserve water at their plants and create better living wages for their workers. This is the case at one of their newest plant located in Pryor, Oklahoma (pictured to the right), where the plant will create nearly 300 jobs in this small town, and pay workers about $15 an hour.
How do we conserve water?
Gatorade uses purified air instead of rinsing with water when cleaning their bottles, this saves billions of liters of water from going down the drain.
Is Gatorade healthy?
Gatorade was involved in a controversy when they were caught using BVO, which is a flame retardant, but this has been removed from all drinks and Gatorade is on its path to a healthier product.
How are employee relations?
Gatorade has not been the best in terms of providing a fair amount of money to their workers but this is changing as well as their view on women workers. More support for all their workers is what they need, and they are making improvements to get to that point.
