We were very excited to hear the Governor's announcement last Friday that New York State schools could reopen for in-person learning. This means that we can move forward with our school plan to open Monday - Friday for preschool to grade 5. It is hard to believe that the beginning of school is just around the corner. We are getting excited to see and hear our students in the building ~ it has been way too long!

On Monday I held a Zoom meeting with some of my faculty and staff ~ it was SO good to see everyone again. We had some laughs and asked our questions. I will also be holding three separate meetings for parents to do the same. These meetings will be held on Zoom and you can choose which one you would like to attend. You will find more information below ~

I am pleased to share that we have hired a 3rd Grade teacher for Saint Kateri School. Her name is Mrs. Jodylynn Guentner ~ she comes to us with many years of teaching elementary students with a strong background in teaching students with diverse strengths and challenges. She is thrilled to be joining us and is already making plans and setting up the classroom! Welcome Mrs. Guentner!

Preschool and Kindergarten Orientation: Since we are unable to meet in large groups to hold our traditional Preschool and Kindergarten Orientation Night and visit the classrooms together, we will be sending out that information to you via a PowerPoint on Monday, August 31st.

Preschool - Grade 5: There will be three opportunities for you and your child to visit school, meet the teacher and drop off supplies ~

• Thursday, September 3rd (9:00 am-12:00 pm)
• Tuesday, September 8th (12:30-3:00 pm)
• Wednesday, September 9th (12:30-3:00 pm)

Your child's teacher will be sending out a Sign-Up Genius by Friday, August 28th for you to pick your time to visit.

We are gathering information on our website from graduates of any of the Irondequoit Catholic Schools. We would love to make connections for our students and provide opportunities to celebrate Catholic Schools together in the future.

This will give us the information we need to put into place the plans we have been working on this summer.

There will be a short presentation to highlight our re-opening plan. A FAQ document will be sent out to all school families prior to the first meeting ~ we hope that it answers many of your questions. Both will be added to our website for you to refer to. We will follow the same protocol for ZOOM meetings that we did in the Spring for the students:

• there will be a Waiting Room when you enter
• it will be important that you are waiting and signed in with your correct name ~ no screen names
• anyone in the Waiting Room with a name that is not recognized will not be allowed to enter
