Our Lady of Mercy
NEWSLETTER | TERM 2 | WEEK 8 | 15 JUNE 2022
Last weekend we had the privilege of having Emeritus Archbishop Hickey celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with some of our Year Sixes. Thus, marking their final initiation into the Catholic Church. Congratulations to those Year Six Students.
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
It has been so uplifting to read all the report comments and to note that, despite the many disruptions to our teaching programs due to Covid, there has been wonderful progress made in student learning outcomes. This is a testament to our dedicated staff and their vocation to education.
In the final week of school, I am taking a week’s long service leave. The school will be left in the capable hands of Ms Zanetti, who will be Acting Principal for Week 10 and throughout the course of the mid-year school holidays.
I would like to thank all parents who contributed to the P&F Cake Sale. There were some wonderful goodies to purchase and I have to admit to enjoying more than one item with my morning tea. Thank you so much to those parents/carers who helped to sell cakes on the day. Without these reliable and dedicated volunteers, our P&F would not be able to run these events which are so popular with the children.
Can I remind all families that if you are collecting your child from the basketball gates, to please come to the gate to fetch your child, as our students’ safety is at risk when they attempt to navigate their way through parked and moving cars to get to their family vehicle.
A huge congratulations must go to our Year 6 interschool netball and soccer students who recently represented our school with great distinction. We were so proud to hear reports of their ‘have a go’ attitude and excellent sportsmanship. We are deeply grateful to the wonderful Mrs Johnson who has worked hard to develop in our students not only sporting skills but also sportsmanship. Well done Year 6 students!
As I reflect on the amazing work achieved by staff and students over the course of this last semester, my prayer for everyone is that through our work here at this beautiful school, we are drawn closer to Christ in our flourishings and through our support for the growth and development of those entrusted to our care.
God bless you.

Is your child on a waiting list to see a Paediatrician?
Our school has no association or affliation with this clinic. We noted the opening of this service and thought it might an option for families to investigate if they are on long waitlists to see specialists.
